JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of the Human Resource Manager, the Clean Specialist has the primary responsibility for cleaning the facility in such a way as to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection. 

It is the role of the Clean Specialist to follow daily, weekly and/or monthly cleaning schedules  including, but not limited to, the kitchen, restrooms, break rooms, office areas, storage areas and entrances. 

The Clean Specialist follows the schedule as assigned so no interference with standard work occurs. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

1. Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure.
2. Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean cigarette urns; refill restroom dispensers.
3. Handle recycling materials.
4. Maintains an inventory of cleaning, toiletry, and kitchen supplies.
5. Washes walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and fixtures.
6. Cleans grounds and parking lots of litter, glass or other debris.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

1.  Experience in the custodial field is desirable.
2. Knowledge of proper cleaning methods is required.
3. Effective oral and written communication skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the position are required.
4. Must have the ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

 Work Environment / Physical Demands

1. Tasks that involve possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids or tissues.
2. Tasks that involve handling implements or utensils.
3. This job involves standing for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.
4. Wearing of protective equipment, such as latex gloves, per OSHA regulations is required.
