Cashier/Store Clerk (must be 21 or over due to liquor sales)
Job Summary for Cashier & Stocking position:
The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area in a fast-paced retail environment. This role involves ensuring compliance with all applicable liquor laws and regulations, including age verification and responsible sales practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities or Cashier/Store Clerk: Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and provide prompt and courteous assistance.
Answer customer questions about products, prices and store policies.
Assist customers in locating items and offer product recommendations as needed.
Ensure a positive and welcoming shopping experience for all customers.
Sales Transactions:
Accurately scan and ring up purchases using a point-of-sale system.
Verify customer age and identification for alcohol purchases, adhering to all state and local regulations.
Process payments efficiently, including cash, credit, and debit cards.
Issue receipts and provide change accurately.
Handle returns and exchanges according to store policy.
Store Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring adequate supplies and a pleasant shopping environment.
Assist with stocking shelves, rotating inventory, and keeping the store tidy.
Assist with unloading deliveries and stocking coolers.
May be required to perform light cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping and dusting.
Inventory Management:
Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
Ensure products are properly displayed and organized.
Maintain accurate records of sales and inventory.
Compliance and Regulations
Adhere to all applicable liquor laws and regulations, including those related to age verification, responsible sales practices, and product handling.
Maintain confidentiality of customer information and adhere to store policies.
Other Duties:
Assist with building-in-store displays and promotional materials.
Assist with other tasks as assigned by management to support store operations.
Experience/Skills/Physical Requirements:
Prior experience in a customer service or retail setting is preferred, especially in a liquor store or similar environment.
Strong customer service skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to operate a cash register and POS system, and basic math skillls.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items up to 50lbs and perform repetitive motions.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 2p-10p, Friday & Saturday- 3p-11p, Sunday - 12p-8p Hourly Pay Rate - $12/hr.Cashier/Store Clerk (must be 21 or over due to liquor sales)
