Paducah, Kentucky, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Custodian This role is pivotal in ensuring our school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Position: Custodian

Location: Paducah, KY

Employment Type: Full-Time 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.

  • Sanitization: Regularly sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies to maintain hygiene standards.

  • Waste Management: Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.

  • Facility Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness of windows, entryways, and glass surfaces; ensure all areas are free from graffiti and markings.

  • Equipment Handling: Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers and ensure proper storage and maintenance of all custodial equipment.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, use cleaning agents appropriately, and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Event Support: Assist in setting up and cleaning facilities for school activities and special events.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior custodial or janitorial experience is required.

  • Skills: Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies, understanding of safe usage and storage practices.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 30 pounds, perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, lifting, and pushing.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with staff and interact positively with students.
