Events Manager ($40-45k, Full-Time)

A Paducah Organization is seeking an Events Manager! This is a full-time, long-term position!
The Events Manager will manage event information, coordinate event functions and supervise patron services, including bars and concessions. Coordinates facility contract security and first aid services. Requires evening and weekend work in excess of 40 hours per week and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
Manage the hiring, training and scheduling of all Patron Services and concessions part-time staff
and volunteers Change-over and Custodial Personnel
Supervise the performance of the Event Services part-time staff and volunteers
Gather accurate event information and ensure that event setups are accurate for all events
Implement and maintain proper scheduling and supervision of contract services for all events
Review and implement policies and procedures for Event Services and make recommendations to
Executive Director for modifications as may become appropriate
Maintain on-going relationships and communication with tenants, user groups, and volunteers
Supervise paid staff and volunteers in operation of bars and refreshment stands before, during,
and after events
Order concessions inventory; receive and account for inventory and sales
Participate in development of annual budgets; monitor and manage on-going event services
expenses within budget
Monitor and maintain facility compliance with ADA requirements, making appropriate
recommendations for services and accommodations
Directly supervises employees in the Event Services, including patron services and concessions. Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees and volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving
A basic knowledge of business management practices and procedures.
Ability to compile and maintain records for payroll, personnel scheduling, and event scheduling.
Knowledge of procedures and requirements of the entertainment business to insure good
relationships with promoters and performers
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make proper decisions in handling incidents at all types of
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
Ability to properly train all event employees in handling crowds and the general public for the
events scheduled at the facility.
Proven ability to deal in a professional and cordial manner with the public attending events.
Ability to plan, service and supervise a variety of events with the assistance and cooperation of
other staff members.
Ability to anticipate equipment and other needs for individual events.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years event operations
experience in a similar type facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degree in management or business related field preferred.
Experience working in a computer network environment utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of event production and operations including coordinating events with promoters, preevent
planning, organizing physical facility and staffing.
Ability to manage and account for sales, cash, and inventory of goods.
