OVERALL PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF LAB MANAGER:
Oversee daily R&D/Analytical Laboratory operations to ensure methods and materials produce a safe, high-quality product that is reproducible in manufacturing using proscribed methods and procedures. The person filling this position will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and leadership for Research and Development /Analytical Laboratory Department. This position oversees accurate and efficient analytical laboratory operations adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Additionally, to ensure timely and appropriate release of Raw Material (RM) lots, Bulk Formula (BF) batches, and Finished Goods (FG) lots.
The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of laboratory management and safety practices, be able to analyze and communicate test results to plant managers, oversee and assess techs in lab to ensure proper procedures are being followed and results are accurate, and evaluate lab techs on performance to ensure protocol is being followed, be available to coach the team and enforce corrective and disciplinary action as necessary, as well as able to create and improve on the current lab procedures with innovative creativity.
Education and /or Experience Qualifications
BS in Science Related Field
3-5 years experience in laboratory testing and data analysis
3-5 years experience in managerial, supervisory, and lead experience
