WESTERN KY COMPANY SEEKING - PLANT SCHEDULER 

This position is responsible for all aspects of the production planning for multiple sites across the business. Managing the entire planning and procurement to ensure complete customer satisfaction and maintain company profitability.

This position is a hands-on role that will require a significant investment in the development of processes and procedures, hiring and training the right staff, organizing the planning of multiple product lines, and helping the organization develop a world-class experience for our customers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Manage staff of planning and procurement

 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing, directing, and coordinating Production Planning / Production.
  • Control activities that support the production plan for a given set of customer programs.
  • developing, directing, and coordinating the Order Management and daily customer interface to meet customer demands.
  • Leads continuous improvement activities of diverse scope and complexity to improve the efficiency of systems and processes.
  • Coordinates schedule of activities with customer on production control, planning, scheduling, shipping, order administration and Order Management/Planning.
  • Conducts special studies, investigations and analyses relating to products or processes to effect cost reduction and yield improvements.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s production control functions including Master Scheduling, Production Planning/Coordination, Shop Scheduling, Order Management and Order Administration / Dispatching.
  • Interfaces with customers to ensure delivery commitments are met and with subordinates, functional peer group managers and senior management.
  • Provide material availability (and supplier commitment where applicable) information to the Production Management Team.
  • Responsible for schedule/sequencing accuracy/prioritization and for monitoring delivery performance and schedule/sequencing adherence.
  • Support weekly service level attainment meetings to proactively anticipate supply risks, initiate actions to prevent back orders, and communicate supply availability information to Manufacturing and Operations management.
  • Develop and maintain metric reports for key performance parameters including inventory analysis, schedule adherence, service level.
  • Manage the development and communication of recovery plans on back orders and outages as required, implementing corrective actions to minimize future occurrences.
  • Develop scenarios, analytical data models to understand or report on capacity, production trends, schedule adherence, production linearity, market level, etc. as needed.
  • Assist Production teams to ensure successful achievement of new product schedules by fulfilling Materials’ deliverable.
  • Understand cross-functional objectives subgroups to promote teamwork within Production Management Team.
  • Analyze planning processes and problems and identify, prioritize, coach and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Report project plans, progress, and results
  • Coordinate with direct reports to review all production, inventory needs, stock inventory and most efficient production of each item.
  • Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
  • Other duties as assigned by Site Leader

Job Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates people and/or process management skills
  • customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/ technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years supervisor experience in Planning/Procurement
  • Manufacturing/High Tech Industry / High Volume manufacturing experience
  • Management experience managing manager/supervisors and exempt and non-exempt employees for 5+ years.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires walking, standing, sitting, twisting, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, reaching, pulling, and pushing. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on occasion. Frequent computer usage and the ability to use both hands and feet, arms, and legs.
