Job Title: Welder Apprentice/Fab 3 Days & Hours: Mon - Fri. 6:30a-5p (50 hour weeks) Hourly Pay Rate: $17/hr. for no exp. Someone with Exp. depending on welding test wage will be determined at that time. $18/hr. +
Job Description for Welder Apprentice:
People assigned to this work classification are responsible for producing products consistent with their design and quality specifications within the expected time and in a safe manner, complying with all safety rules and procedures. This includes using both hands and arms to efficiently use powered trucks, hoists and other power tools and machines as required by the assigned job. The efficient and correct use of measuring tools, equipment and gauges is a required function of the job. The job requires walking, standing, reaching, pulling, pushing, climbing, stooping, bending, squatting and lifting. People assigned to this classification are also responsible to perform other assigned work in the department and plant.
Job Duties for Welder Apprentice:
Read part drawing and other attached information to determine the material, jigs, fixtures, tools, welding and other equipment required to complete the assigned job.
Use trucks, pallet jack, etc. If necessary to bring material, equipment, etc. to work area. Carry items weighing up to 75lbs.
Position material weighing up to 200 lbs by reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting stooping, bending; use lift assists and hoists, and secure as required by clamps, tacking, etc.
Weld material in standing, sitting, stooping, bending and laying positions as required by drawing and specifications. Types of welding can be vertical, horizontal, overhead and at floor levels in all welding positions.
Use grinders, and air sanders to remove, smooth or grind down welds. Grinders weigh up to 16lbs.
Remove completed products, parts, equipment, tools, etc. to designated storage and operation areas by carrying and/or using lifts or other means. Clean up work area.
Attire:
Steel toed boots, jeans. Company provides all other PPE equipment.
