OPERATOR JOB DUTIES:

A local medical facility is seeking a SwitchBoard Operator!

There is potential for part-time or full-time.

Two shifts available, Day Shift and afternoon Shift.

To provide pleasant and efficient incoming communication and outgoing communication for internal and external customers

• Answer phones promptly and transfers to correct department

• Ability to page emergency codes/alerts in a clear and calm manner while communicating with hospital supervisors and physicians while following proper guidelines

• Responsible for notifying the “on call” staff members for all designated departments

• Strive to be a customer service advocate

• Other duties as assigned

• Follow Departmental policies and procedures

• Schedule Varies 

High school diploma

Pleasant speaking voice, good customer relations skills, and able to navigate through multiple computer systems simultaneously

Needs to be able to think independently with little supervision

Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Supervised by the Operator Supervisor

Able to push/pull light objects; Able to lift light objects.

Able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as keyboard skills

Able to sit for prolonged periods.

Able to hear normal sounds with some background noise as in answering the phone, intercom, etc.

Able to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption.

Needs to attend to task/function for less than 30 minutes at a time.

Able to understand and relate to specific ideas generally one at a time.

Able to remember task/assignment for few hours during shift.

Able to communicate verbally, using standard high school level vocabulary.
