Job Title: Production Manager – Fish Processing
Location: Wickliffe, KY
Salary: $50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time

About the Opportunity:
A growing fish processing and exporting operation in Wickliffe, KY is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations for its Asian carp processing facility. This position plays a vital role in managing multiple production lines, ensuring compliance with food safety standards (HACCP), and leading a productive, safety-conscious team.

The outgoing manager will provide full training and transition support on all fish processing, dog treat, and fishmeal lines.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Oversight

  • Manage day-to-day operations of fish, dog treat, and fishmeal processing lines

  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and HACCP compliance standards

  • Coordinate with fishermen and sales team to align production with orders

  • Oversee product receiving, cleaning, cutting, packaging, and storage

  • Maintain production schedules and optimize workflow for efficiency

  • Identify areas for process improvement to reduce waste and enhance output

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support plant staff across all shifts

  • Assign daily responsibilities and monitor performance

  • Provide training and performance evaluations

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Ensure proper staffing and labor utilization

Order Fulfillment & Communication

  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer orders are met on time

  • Monitor and prioritize production based on demand

  • Communicate order status and resolve any delays or issues

Compliance & Food Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP food safety standards

  • Train staff on food safety protocols and monitor adherence

  • Maintain records and documentation for inspections and audits

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • At least 2 years of experience in a management role, preferably in food production

  • Strong understanding of food processing operations and quality standards

  • Familiarity with HACCP or other food safety systems

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Clear, professional communication and team collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Starting salary: $50,000/year with potential for negotiation after 1 year
